David Shield Bespoke Kitchens - Kitchen Drawers of dovetail construction

I employ the highest standards of craftsmanship using only the best quality materials to produce all my kitchens.
All work is produced using traditional joinery machinery and techniques giving me the flexibility to produce whatever the customer desires.

Most of my kitchens feature;

  • In frame doors of mortice and tenon construction
  • Solid brass butt hinges
  • Solid wooden drawer boxes with dovetailed corners

Hardware used in construction is sourced from the latest innovators to traditionally hand forged over an anvil wrought iron work.

Carcasses are normally made from 18mm melamine faced chipboard available in a range of colours and wood grain finishes. Other materials are available on request.

Handmade kitchens are labour intensive and typically take between 3 and 8 weeks to manufacture, complexity of design and size of kitchen determine this timescale.

All wood is finished in some way before leaving my workshop.
Natural wood finishes are either spray finished using modern UV stable lacquers or oiled. Kitchens destined to be hand painted on site are sprayed using at least two coats of 2 part primer.
